We do everything. The formula is short, energetic, almost frictionless. In English, We make everything can seem like a declaration of imagination without boundaries. As soon as we try to use it to understand what to expect, however, the questions surface: all for whom, in what field, with what resources and up to what result? The force of the utterance and the clarity of the promise do not necessarily coincide.

The field that a word deletes

We view the formula as a linguistic object, without attributing it to a specific enterprise. It could belong to an imaginary creative laboratory, appear in an ironic scene or summarize services described elsewhere. The context is decisive: the same sentence can be a recognizable hyperbole or generate expectations that the rest of the message does not delimit.

The IAP Code also considers omissions, ambiguities, and exaggerations that are not overtly hyperbolic in the assessment of misleading communication. It also requires appropriate use of scientific evidence and terminology. It is a system of self-discipline for those who adhere to it; quoting it does not amount to declaring an isolated sentence unlawful.

Its cultural indication is also useful outside the trade: it does not only matter what the broadcaster intended to say. It matters what a person can reasonably understand through the whole of the message. A hidden explanation can exist without correcting the impression produced by the opening.

Saying everything can therefore leave the reader with excessive work. He is the one who has to invent the perimeter, imagine the skills and decide what the statement is literal.

A test does not alone widen its boundary

The ICC Code of 2024 considers the overall impression generated by words, images and sounds. The support of a statement must be related to what is actually communicated. A limited result should not be presented as a capacity without conditions.

Let's imagine a technology that reduces the time of a task in an internal test. The result can be real; turning it into the promise of solving each problem adds a step that the test does not contain. The term innovation can also occupy this space: it arouses a favorable orientation without yet saying what difference has been introduced.

This observation does not require giving up a language capable of emotion. It requires understanding where imagination becomes an operational expectation. A metaphor can open up thinking; a guarantee orients decisions that have consequences.

An invented example makes the difference visible. A cultural group can declare that they want to change our look at the world. If, on the other hand, he promises that each meeting will permanently change the life of each participant, he attributes to an intention the form of a universal result.

The Limit as Part of the Relationship

Promises become more interesting when they allow for a precise answer. What might we observe to see if they have been maintained? Who can ask a question? Which party depends on the circumstances or participation of other people? This information gives substance to a phrase that would otherwise occupy only the space of enthusiasm.

Even those who read can try a small critical operation: replacing the absolute with a subject, an activity and a context. If the meaning disappears, perhaps the effectiveness depended above all on its indeterminacy. If a concrete content emerges, the promise can become a matter of comparison.

A well-expressed limit is not necessarily a brake. It can declare a competence, make a choice recognizable and leave room for others. Telling what problems we may face allows the listener to decide whether they affect each other.

Trust also begins here: in the possibility of words meeting a world capable of responding. An immeasurable statement sometimes protects the speaker, because no one knows where to verify it. A precise promise instead agrees to become a relationship and be discussed through what happens.
